Living with COPD – A day in the life

AI helped but had to drag it out of it ahh ahh ah

Made the bus in seconds flat. Hauled myself upstairs and found a seat,

Not even out of breath (back then)

Reached into my pocket, struck a match,

and had a smoke.

A lad with all the breath in the world to burn.

(Ahhhhh-ah-ah-ahhh…)

(…and somebody spoke, and we all bought the dream.)

It’s only now that the lungs are doing the screaming.

You almost have to admire the sheer brilliance of the design.

They sold you tomorrow while you were too young to care, banked the cash upfront, and sailed off into the sunset.

No noise, no fuss.

Just a tidy little fortune made, and the bill quietly left on the seat for forty years down the line.
