Big gig – Great Song ‘While my guitar gently weeps’

Great Arts ‘Jeff Lyn, Tom Petty ….’ – The stars with obviously sidelined ‘prince’. It was great viewing for a music/guitar afficiando (yours truly).

Then the magic happened – Invited as an afterthought almost … Prince moved forward and did an amazing guitar solo – 4 or 5 mins and showed who really was great on guitar – He (in his red hat) certainly made the guitar weep. There was a young guy playing with the old guitar guys. George Harrison’s son I think. The grin on his face is lovely, as he realised what was happening. Have a look yourself

Someone who had an important impact on my life

Teacher – Name Brendan McNulty – He was (is) a Sligo man – Had him in Primary school St Canice’s, Finglas from 1st class until 6th class – That’s six years – a huge length of time (for a six year old) – Must have been until 1971/2 – So from six to twelve – I remeber him as a good/nice man – Great teacher and very very patient – Happy he taught me and happy to remember him – Remember crying in 1st class one day – Don’t remember why – He handled it – When i think of it a young Sligo man teaching young boys from Finglas and succeeding (Still know some of my fellow pupils) – Memories …. Sligo produced some talent …
